Once the site of Oliffe Terrace which was demolished in 1922, the three storey hotel in Inter War Free Classical style has the original glazed tile signage which was once common early in the twentieth century.
An hotel of the same name had originally been built on the opposite corner in 1843.

Harold Park Hotel Glebe

Originally a grand three storey hotel which was destroyed by fire in 1959. The building was rebuilt in the early 1960s and became the home of comedy and 'politics in the pub'. It was well frequented by first the supporters of greyhound racing and then trotting.

Harold Park Paceway

Running grounds in Glebe which was developed in part of the Toxteth Estate in 1890 for pony racing, trotting and athletics. The course had various names and owners until it was named Harold Park after the imported American trotting horse Childe Harold in 1929. From 1929 to 1987 it also hosted greyhound race meetings. The venue closed in 2010 and is now the site of medium density housing.

Diligent and well respected surgeon and public servant under several governors, he developed extensive landholdings in Ultimo and Parramatta district.

Harris, John 1802-1846

The owner of Ultimo Estate, John Harris was the nephew of the surgeon and public servant, John Harris. He arrived in Sydney in 1844, though died two years later and bequeathed a half-acre of his share in the Ultimo Estate to the Church of Scotland in Ultimo. The trustees of the estate (Dr J Fullerton and G Hamilton) selected out a half-acre block in Quarry Street, and in 1883 a Presbyterian church was built where it stands today as a Uniting Church.
