Historic northern rural village on Macdonald River, north of Wisemans Ferry. Named after the city in England, its valley has been referred to by locals as the 'Forgotten Valley' as it has been by-passed over time by all the major road and rail routes leading north from Sydney. The St Albans Writers' Festival has been held there annually since 2015.
